PDF2XL Enterprise: Convert PDF to Excel is a feature-packed software solution specifically developed for PDF-to-Excel conversions, as the name implies. But it also supports other formats for the input, namely scanned, printed, image and layout items.

The app's packed in a clean interface with an intuitive layout. Opening a file can be done by using either the file browser or by dragging and dropping it onto the working environment. Unfortunately, it is not possible to process multiple items in a single session.

Aside from converting files, you may make several adjustments to them. For example, you can mark text, fields, tables and content, load a layout from the hard drive, and rotate pages.

On top of that, you can zoom in and out, change the color of marked tables and fields, preview the entire project, use a search function, enable OCR mode, and alter the page structure (e.g. all pages same, first page different).

But it is also possible to edit the column header and table tile, merge the current selection, modify the table structure, convert only specific pages, use the undo and redo functions, as well as add a predefined set of fields to the layout. The project can be exported to Word, PowerPoint, the Clipboard, OpenOffice, CSV and HTML file types, aside from Excel.

The program requires a moderate quantity of CPU and system memory, has a good response time, is backed by user documentation, and quickly completes a job. The output files have a good quality regarding the text layout and graphical elements.

No error dialogs have popped up throughout our evaluation and PDF2XL Enterprise: Convert PDF to Excel did not freeze or crash. Thanks to its rich features yet simplicity of a conversion task, PDF2XL Enterprise: Convert PDF to Excel can be handled by users of all skill levels.
