Google Maps Terrain Downloader is a tool that help you to get small tile terrain map images from Google Maps. All downloaded small terrain images are saved on the disk. You can view downloaded maps by Terrain Map Viewer Or you can combine them into a big BMP map.
Manual coordinate sets need to be provided
In order to carry out the downloading process, you are required to specify the coordinates for the left and right longitude, top and bottom latitude, and pick the zooming level.
The tool doesn’t offer support for a global map from where you can select the location, so you need to manually insert the coordinates in the dedicated dialog.
Set zoom level and save to picture
What’s more, you can select a default saving path and zooming level, configure proxy settings, convert degrees, minutes, and seconds to degrees, as well as open the downloaded maps with the built-in map viewer which comes packed with limited features, as it lets users switch to a full screen mode and open a project.
