Description
Enzymatically charged local anaesthesia was induced in 42 patients undergoing soft tissue nasal tip, lateral nasal wall, alar and perinasal surgery. This was achieved by means of a standard local anaesthetic combined with hyaluronidase injected in the region of the root of the nose. Complete nasal anaesthesia was achieved in all patients within 60 sec of the local anaesthetic being deposited. No further local anaesthetic infiltration was required at any other site on the nose. This technique ensured a relative degree of comfort to the patient during the administration of the local anaesthetic and furthermore prevented any anaesthetic water logging of the tissues.
