Description
We report the case of a 36-year-old woman who developed permanent hypoparathyroidismafter thyroidectomy for differentiated thyroid carcinoma. A 6-year follow-up showed an increase of 11% in absolute bone mineral density at the spine and 6% at the hip accompanied by low bone turnover despite thyroid-stimulating hormone suppressive thyroxine therapy.
