Symantec™ Backup Exec™ provides backup and disaster recovery for virtual and physical environments. It can be used to rapidly recover an entire server to similar or dissimilar hardware in minutes. Backups can also be converted to virtual machines for instant recovery allowing you to quickly get a server back running on a VMWare® or Hyper-V™ environment.
Symantec™ also has numerous other useful features such as the management of backup jobs, configuring storage devices and creating and running reports.
The purpose of this documentation is to provide you with the necessary information to integrate Symantec™ Backup Exec™ with LabTech®. This integration will provide the ability to monitor, run reports, view job history, monitor storage status and even run one-time backup jobs. For detailed information on how Symantec™ Backup Exec™ works, all of the features and installation considerations, please refer to the Symantec Backup Exec 2012 Administrator's Guide.
